Infant CarseatsCosco does not make a Cosco brand infant carseat. The Dorel company does make infant carseats under the Eddie Baurer and Safety 1st brands . These infant carseats are made for newborns up to about twenty-two pounds. These carseats should always be placed in the middle of the back seat, facing the rear of the vehicle. Some also have bases that stay latched in the vehicle, so you can unlatch the seat to use as a convenient infant carrier. Some Cosco carseats have extra bases you can buy when using your seat in more than one vehicle. Convertible CarseatsCosco carseats also come in a convertible style. Convertible child carseats are used rear facing at first, when the baby is young, but can be turned forward facing after the baby's first birthday. The Touriva and Alpha Omega are the two most popular types of convertible Cosco carseats. Booster CarseatsThe booster types of Cosco carseats come in four main types. A plain back less Auto Booster Seat, which also come in a higher version, the Ambassador Booster Seat, the Summit High Back Booster, and the Protek Belt Positioning Booster. The Summit has a harness system, so it can be used with younger children and toddlers.
