Booster Seats For Toddlers
Toddler booster seats are designed for toddlers who are either too big for regular child car seats,
or are not big enough for the car's seat belt system. There are a variety of toddler booster seats
from which to choose.
Some toddler booster seats are actually convertible child car seats. Initially, babies and smaller children
are secured using the five-point harness, As the toddler gets older this changes. When they reach thirty pounds,
this kind of toddler booster seat provides the height enabling the child to safely wear the vehicle seat belt and
lap belt. Some convertible child car seats have guides built in to help position the belt correctly.
Other types of toddler booster seats do not have any harness. These are designed for toddlers and
children between thirty to eighty pounds in weight. These seats raise the child up and provide for safe positioning
of vehicle seat belts. Children up to one hundred pounds will be supported by some of these toddler booster seats.
Some of these toddler booster seats come with removable backs. While still others have no back at all.
Numerous companies make the different types of toddler booster seats, so reading the manufacturers
directions is the best way to determine proper weight guidelines and installation. Many of these are summaried by
on-line retailers of child car seats. This makes it easy and quick to check the guidelines.
Toddler booster seats are available in many prints, styles, patterns and colors. They are also available
in many different materials such as leather, denim, cotton and blends. Often they come accessories such as cup holders
or compartments on the sides for kids to put their items.
Whether two or eight, and sometimes older, toddler booster seats are a safe way to safely ride in a car.
Remember all children should ride in the rear seat and never the front seat.
